The certification is in the form of a written project documentation and Power Point presentation (or similar program). The certification process involves defending the project. The defense includes 2 stages:
- Presentation of the idea and project using Lean 6 Sigma tools;
- Questions from the Certification Committee about the project. The first type of tasks is related to checking professional competencies, which a student must possess:
- know the goals and objectives of the Lean 6 Sigma methodology, have an understanding of the concept's place in management, know the history of its emergence and development;
- know the DMAIC cycle;
- understand the organizational structure of Lean 6 Sigma;
- know the principles of effective interaction with team members;
- be able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice;
- possess the skill of using tools for data collection and detailed analysis;
- possess approaches to decision making based on factual data.
Based on the analysis of answers, project documentation and project presentation, the Сommittee concludes whether a graduate is capable of successfully applying Lean Management methodology in professional activities.
The exam is considered passed if the project report documentation is provided in accordance with the specified standards, and the student answers correctly at least 80% of the questions.
